Ex. Gordon Cooper

Apollo 14 Flown Embroidered Mission Insignia Patch Originally from the Personal Collection of Mercury Seven Astronaut Gordon Cooper, Mounted on His Signed Certificate of Authenticity, in Framed Display. This 4" x 3.625" oval patch (AB Emblem) depicts a NASA Astronaut Pin flying to the moon and this example was carried aboard the Command Module Kitty Hawk during its nine-day flight. The surnames of the crewmembers, "Shepard Roosa Mitchell," are listed beneath the graphic with "APOLLO 14" above, all on a gold thread background. Framed to an overall 8.375" x 10.375". A couple minor dings on the certificate, patch excellent. It is mounted on a certificate that reads, in full:

"GORDON COOPER. The cloth patch displayed below was carried on the flight of Apollo 14, the third manned lunar landing. The launch was on January 31 and the crew returned to earth on February 9, 1971. Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell worked for over 9 hours outside their Lunar Module during two surface explorations. Al never made it up to the rim of Cone Crater, but didn't do too bad considering he was the "oldest" man to ever walk on the moon! Alan Shepard was the only one of us Mercury guys to make a lunar flight and actually walk on the moon's surface. I had hoped to command a Apollo mission before his but it just didn't work out that way. [signed] Gordon Cooper/ Colonel, USAF, (Ret.) Mercury and Gemini Astronaut." From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
