Description

Ex. John Young

Apollo 10 Command Module Pilot John Young's Flown Space Suit Patches (Four) Originally from his Personal Collection, Certified and Signed on Display Frame. An outstanding offering here of a 10" x 17" framed display that contains four patches flown on Young's suit during the historic Apollo 10 mission from May 18-26, 1969. The display contains four items (top to bottom): a 5.75" x 3.75" (sight size) U.S. flag (worn on left upper sleeve); a 3.75" x 3.5" NASA logo on Beta cloth (worn on right chest); a 3.25" x 3.25" Apollo 10 mission insignia on Beta cloth (worn on left chest); and his 2.75" x 0.75" "J. YOUNG" Beta cloth name patch (worn on middle chest). Young has written on the paper backing of the frame: "I certify that these 4 patches were on my Apollo 10 Pressure Suit when I went to the MOON. John Young". Flown patches directly from an astronaut's space suit are among the most desirable space artifacts in the hobby. These patches were originally offered directly from Young's collection in 2009 and have remained in the same collection ever since. A unique opportunity to obtain these highly-displayable, sought-after relics. Age related wear to frame, overall very fine. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
