Description

Ex. Dave Scott

Apollo 9 Flown American Flag [and] Mission Insignia Patch on Crew-Signed Mat Originally from Mission Command Module Pilot Dave Scott's Personal Collection with His Signed Certificate of Authenticity. A 5.75" x 4" cloth U.S. flag along with a rare 3.375" diameter embroidered mission insignia patch (Crew Patch Variant) mounted on a 14" x 11" matboard that reads: "Carried Into Space During The Flight of Apollo IX, 3-13 March 1969". Signed at left in black felt tip: "James A. McDivitt", "Dave Scott", and "Rusty Schweickart". Included with the lot is a signed COA, dated May 2, 2001, on Dave Scott's personal letterhead stating that these items "...were flown in space onboard Apollo 9 in my Personal Preference Kit..." This is the first time Heritage has offered this type of Apollo 9 flag presentation. A particularly pleasing example with no fading to the signatures and no glue bleedthrough on the flag. Excellent. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
