Description
Vostok 1 Commemorative Presentation Model. A striking and finely crafted Soviet presentation model of the Vostok 1 spacecraft, commemorating the first manned spaceflight by Yuri A. Gagarin on April 12, 1961. The model, cast and machined metal, depicts the spherical Vostok descent module with attached instrumentation and retro-rocket cluster. The highly reflective surface and intricate detailing evoke the precision and engineering aesthetic of early Cold War space hardware. Standing 16" tall when affixed to 6" diameter stand bearing the engraved mission date. The craftsmanship suggests official presentation quality, likely produced in limited numbers for distribution to high-ranking Soviet aerospace officials, engineers, or dignitaries of the OKB-1 Design Bureau and related ministries.
