Tracking and Data Relay Satellite, First Generation, Contractor's Model on Base. A stunningly detailed all-metal model, 9.5" tall x 7.5" x 6.5" overall, on a wooden base with an engraved plaque reading: "Tracking and Data Relay Satellite/ Dick Sade". This is the type of satellite that was launched from STS-6 in 1983 and likely dates from then or earlier. These satellites form part of the TDRSS network used by NASA and other government agencies.
