Description

Charles Dickens Autographed Note Signed. Written in the third person. One page, bifolium, 4.5" x 6.5" (sight), undated, Black Swan Hotel, York. The Victorian literary giant writes, in full: "Mr. Charles Dickens presents his compliments to Miss (?), and having just arrived in York, begs Forward her the accompanying letter from Ms. (?). Black Swan Hotel - York, Saturday Morning." Matted between a photograph of The Old Curiosity Shop (made famous in his novel of the same name) and an illustration of Dickens to an overall 8" x 19".

Condition: Moderately toned from the acidity in the mat, with smoothed folds and light handling wear.
