Description

Lincoln & Johnson and the "Defenders of the Union": A Striking 1864-65 Poster. Quite possibly a campaign issue from the fall of 1864, although it could also be more of the patriotic nature, and date from that brief five-month period when Johnson was the serving vice president. A bold and eye-catching design which has terrific display presence. Most larger Lincoln-Johnson posters are priced in the high four figures, if not five figures. However, there was a small "find" of this particular poster several decades ago, and examples still show up in the marketplace often enough to keep this item at a surprisingly affordable level. In our opinion one of the best "values" in Lincoln collectibles. 19" x 24". Beautiful condition, with a little age browning along the very edges and a small piece missing from the lower left hand corner, both utterly inconsequential.
