Description

King George II of Great Britain Partial Document Signed. One page, 8 1/2 x 7 inches, no place; June 26, 1727. Issued in the same month that George II succeeded his father as king, this document authorizes "...issue and pay, or cause to be issued and paid out of any Our Treasure or Revenue remaining in the Receipt of the Exchequer applicable to the Uses of Our Civil Government unto Our Trusty and Welbeloved John Selwyn the Elder Esq. late Treasurer to Our late most dearly beloved Consort the Queen..." Signed, "George R." at top left corner.

Condition: Lightly toned and flattened folds. Small separations at the margins, affecting text at right edge. Trimmed bottom half, and loss to bottom right corner, affecting text. Edgewear with a few small areas of loss from prior mounting, with remnants along edges of verso. Paper label affixed to the top right margin of recto.
