Signed in blue ink in the upper margin of the front cover, "Warren E. Buffett". 1997 was a particularly bullish year in New York Stock Exchange history. A fact reflected in Buffett's "Chairman's Letter" printed within this report where he writes that the company's "gain in net worth during 1997 was $8.0 billion..."
