Description
Honolulu Star-Bulletin 1st Extra "WAR! OAHU BOMBED BY JAPANESE PLANES." Honolulu; Sunday, December 7, 1941. Eight pages, 17.25" x 22.75". This is an original printing of this historic paper announcing the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It has been reproduced many times, but the example offered here meets all the points for the original editions including the printing flaws on the letters of the word "WAR." Additionally pages two through eight have varying dates, or lack thereof. Page three reads, "Saturday December [no date] 1941," pages four and five, "Sunday December 7, 1941," pages six through eight, simply "December [no date] 1941."Condition: The paper has toned, as is common, and there are some chips and tiny tears along both right and left edges. The first two sheets have a 4.5" diagonal tear at bottom running through the text. Separation at the horizontal fold at right margin at all pages.
