Mahatma Gandhi Autograph Letter Signed "Bapu." Two pages, 3.75" x 5.75", Segona, Wardha; May 24, 1938. Addressed to Sharla, known as one of Gandhi's two English "daughters", regarding her wish to marry. The letter reads in full:

"Here is Dr. Ghosh's letter. You have promised not to feel hurt if the answer was in the negative. I want you to be as good as your word. So write a nice letter to Dr. Ghosh. For you, I would say, do not court anybody. Court only God. If he wants you to marry He would produce the proper person. I did not like your reply to my letter. But of that hereafter God bless you." Matted and framed in a custom frame so that both sides of the letter may be visible, along with a photograph of Gandhi, to the overall size of 19.25" x 15.25".

Condition: Flattened fold. Light soiling. Boldly signed.
