Description

Woodrow Wilson Typed Letter Signed "Woodrow Wilson". One page, 8" x 10", Sea Girt, New Jersey; August 16, 1912. Wilson writes a letter to Dr. Louis Edelman to thank him for his support in his run for president, writing, "...I want to give myself the pleasure of telling you how much I appreciate your sincere interest in my candidacy."

Woodrow Wilson ran against William H. Taft and Theodore Roosevelt in the election of 1912. He won 42 percent of the popular vote and was the first Southerner to win the presidency since the Civil War.

Condition: Flattened folds, with light toning around the edges. There are some separations at the folds and two small holes along the left margin. Area of dark staining at the top margin. Light soiling throughout. There is mounting residue on verso.
