Description

[American Revolution]. John Hart Currency Note Signed as Member of the New Jersey Provincial Congress. One partially printed note, 4 x 2 1/4 inches; Burlington, New Jersey; March 25, 1776. Printed by Isaac Collins. Engraved currency note no. 30465 for one shilling. Signed "John Hart," and countersigned by Jonathan Deare and John Stevens Jr. Only months after signing this note, Hart would sign the Declaration of Independence.

Condition: Toned with flattened folds and scattered soiling. Bumped corners, and trimmed bottom margin just affecting decorative border.
