Description
Lily Pons Archive. Photographs, autographs and music scores, many from the personal collection of opera singer Lily Pons. The group includes more than 25 studio photographs of Pons in costume or promotional glamour shots with photo stamps. Two additional photos inscribed to Pons from Giulio Setti and Ruth St. Denis (with an ALS addressed to "Dear - My Great Artist" on verso) are present.Together with a total of 5 musical manuscripts, most notably Pons' personal copy of act II, scene 1 from the "Barber of Seville"; signed "Lily Pons" in pencil on the front page and containing her annotations, cuts, and added cadenza. The other four scores are by Frank la Forge, and were arranged specifically for Pons.
Condition: The photographs are in excellent condition and ideal for display. The scores have age-toning, otherwise near fine.
