Description

Winston Churchill Typed Letter Signed "Winston S. Churchill." One page, 7" x 9" (sight), London; May 25, 1955. Addressed to Reverend Roderick King, with some emendations made in black ink in Churchill's hand. The letter, marked "Private" in Churchill's hand, thanks King for a depiction of him in the new stained-glass windows of Holy Trinity Church in Exmouth. Framed to the overall size of 8.25" x 10.25".

Accompanied by the mock up of the window, 2" x 13.75", featuring Churchill dressed in robes, above three servicemen representing the Army, Navy, and Air Force. At the bottom of the window reads, "We Shall Go On To The End We Shall Never Surrender." Matted and framed to the overall size of 7.25" x 19.25".

Condition: Flattened mail fold to the letter. Moderate foxing throughout. There is a hole punched at the top left corner. Boldly signed.
