Rodney, brother of Declaration Signe Caesar Rodney, writes to his son: "The anniversary of the Battle of Prince Town seems still propitious to me. This morning is the first of my feeling like being restored..." Rodney is writing on the very day of the anniversary of the Battle of Princeton, which occurred on January 3, 1777. It was a pivotal battle for George Washington's army, and its importance was still fresh in the minds of the young nation, as evidenced by Rodney's letter. From the Estate of Malcolm S. Forbes.
