Caesar Rodney Autograph Document Signed. One page, 10 x 1¾ inches, Dover; February 20, 1775. A receipt for part of the principal and an installment of interest due on a mortgage. Signed, "Caesar Rodney" as trustee. Rodney was a notable politician and military officer in colonial and revolutionary America. He served in the Delaware militia during the French and Indian War as well as the Revolutionary War. Rodney represented his home state as a Continental Congressman, signed the Continental Association and the Declaration of Independence, and served as president of Delaware throughout the war.

Condition: Lightly toned with miniscule paper loss at right margin barely touching text. Reinforced on verso with Japanese silk.
