Description

John Morton Signed Pennsylvania Colonial Note. 3 1/4 x 2 5/8 inches; Pennsylvania; issued on April 2, 1772. A note for two shillings and six pence signed "John Morton." Also signed by John Sellers and Charles Humphreys. Notably, Humphreys attended the Continental Congress along with Morton. Humphreys opposed the Declaration of Independence because he believed its passing would result in war which was contrary to his Quaker religion. Morton voted in favor of its passing and went on to sign the founding document.

Condition: Honest wear with a single fold through center and crease at top right corner.
