Ua hanaia no ka meridiana o Lahainaluna, Latitu 20 degere 52 minute, Lonitu 156 degere 24 minute. Oahu: Na na Misionari i Pai, 1834. First edition, limited to 2,000 copies, first issue without colophon on final page of text. Octavo (8.9" x 5.5"). [2, blank], [1]-4, [12], [2, blank] pages. Engraved title-page vignette. Stab-stitched, in contemporary blue paper wrapper. "The first Hawaiian almanac adapted to Lahainaluna [home of Hawaii's first printing press] and translated by Ephraim Clark and William Richards (Dibble)," Forbes, Hawaiian National Bibliography: 1780-1900, 877.Condition: Somewhat edge-worn and rippled; damp stain extending halfway down from top edge through extent of text block. Occasional areas of mild soiling, discoloration, particularly at wrappers. Preliminary and terminal blanks pasted to wrappers. Very good.
