The pamphlets relate to a variety of American Revolution and Civil War topics, including England's debates in the Houses of Lords and Commons on articles of peace with America (1783), Scotland's "Committee of the Free Church Anti-Slavery Society" (1847), the "Necessity of Education in a Free State (1861)", and several anniversaries of American independence at the embarkation of the Pilgrims.

The disbound magazine issues (removed from previously bound collections), include numbers from British periodicals, such as The Gentleman's Magazine (1765-1778), The Town and Country Magazine (June 1774), four issues of The Westminster Magazine (January, March, June and October of 1778) with illustrations and one with a fold-out plate of "A View of Roaring Cascade". Also included are disbound pages (numbered 3-68) from Acts and Laws Passed by the General Court or Assembly of His Majesty's English Colony of Connecticut in New-England in America. Pamphlets and book textblock with edge wear, few with remnants from previous bindings along inner edges, some frayed binding strings, tears, chips and paper losses (some affecting text), few trimmed pages with loss to text, creasing, foxing, soiling and staining, stab holes in margins, few loose pages, contemporary ink names, few holograph annotations, and unobtrusive library stamps. Fair to very good.
