Mark Twain. Following the Equator, A Journey Around the World. Hartford, Connecticut: The American Publishing Company, 1897. First trade edition, title page with single imprint. Octavo. 712 pages. Portrait frontispiece and numerous in-text illustrations. Publisher's red half-morocco over marbled boards, spine with five raised bands, stamped and lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, other edges trimmed.

Condition: Binding a bit scuffed and rubbed, minor edgewear. Hinges a bit weak and starting. Frontispiece loose but holding, offsetting to title page. Text block a touch toned, a few spots. Very good.
