Description

Rex Stout. The Hand in the Glove. A Dol Bonner Mystery. New York: Farrar & Rinehart, Inc., [1937]. First trade edition of the only Dol Bonner Mystery. Octavo. [iv], [1]-284 pages. Publisher's full red cloth, front board and spine stamped in black. In the original publisher's dust jacket. Cloth spine slightly rubbed and soiled. Boards mildly rubbed and bumped. A smart and resourceful female private detective, Theodolinda ("Dol") Bonner is successful enough to own her own detective agency. This is the only novel that features her as the main protagonist, but she does make occasional appearances in several Nero Wolfe novels. This novel was the basis of the 1992 television movie, Lady Against the Odds, starring Crystal Bernard as Bonner.
