William French. Some Recollections of a Western Ranchman. New Mexico, 1883-1899. London: Methuen & Co. Ltd., [1927]. First edition. Octavo. [viii], 283, [2], 8 publisher's catalogue pages. Publisher's grey cloth, stamped in black. White endpapers, top and fore-edge trimmed, bottom edge roughly trimmed. Publisher's original printed dust jacket."This is one of the really good, though obscure, books on the West, containing information previously unknown about many of the western outlaws, such as the Wild Bunch, Joel Fowler, and Black Jack Ketchum. Most of these outlaws worked for the author on the WS Ranch..." (Adams).
"One of the best personal accounts of western ranching. French was an Englishman who owned with WS ranch in western New Mexico," (Reese).
Condition: Spine ends just pushed, minor edgewear. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Minor, scattered foxing to text block. Original dust jacket unrestored, minor sunning to top edge and spine, a few minor chips and stains. Near fine book in a near fine dust jacket.
