Description

Vinton, Iowa: Kruse Publishing Co., June, 1928.8vo. Publisher's fine pebble-grained black cloth, lettered in orange-red on upper cover and spine; quarter morocco slipcase.
FIRST EDITION, number 166 of 300 copies. INSCRIBED BY PAUL ENGLE on front free endpaper: "See pages 31/42," and additionally at the start of his contributions on p. 31: "Paul Engle / Iowa City / May 29, 1945 / But how young!", above he has circled his name and added, "pages 31 to 42." Contains first book appearances of seven of Engle's earliest poetry and prose works.
Condition: Very minor rubbing to binding; front hinge cracked with slight discoloration at gutter from binder's glue; over-opened at center of text-block.
