William Wordsworth. Poems... including Lyrical Ballads, and the Miscellaneous Pieces of the Author. With additional Poems, a New Preface, and a Supplementary Essay. London: Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1815 [and 1820].3 volumes, 8vo. Engraved frontispiece in Vols. I and II. Contemporary polished calf.
FIRST COLLECTED EDITION. The third volume, published in 1820, contains a general title, and consists of copies of the first editions of "Thanksgiving Ode" (1816), "Waggoner" (1819), "Peter Bell" (1819), and "River Duddon" (1820). "With this two-volume set of 1815 is sometimes found a third volume, with a collective title-page dated 1820, made by binding together The River Duddon, Peter Bell, The Waggoner, and Thanksgiving Ode" (Healey).
Condition: Bindings rebacked in sheep to style, with dark green lettering-pieces. Minor spotting on frontispieces and pale offsetting to facing titles; the occasional pale spot or instance of soiling, but internally quite clean and fresh throughout.
