Falconry... London: Printed by I. B. for Roger. Jackson,
1618. First edition. Small quarto, approximately 7.25 x 5.25
inches. [22], 147, [1, blank]; [20], 148 pages, first book lacking
blank leaves. Woodcut on title-page of book one. Book two with
additional illustrated title-page and intertextual woodcut
illustrations thoughout. Nineteenth-century brown levant morocco,
boards paneled in dark brown and gilt, with gilt floral
cornerpieces, spine in six compartments, ruled and lettered or
stamped in gilt, with five raised bands, all edges gilt, signed by
Riviere and Son on the front turn-in. Book one text block tightly
trimmed with occasional occurrence of shaved text, preliminary
leaves soiled with some dampstaining. Book two with occasional ink
notations and the last twenty-eight leaves dampstained at right
margin. Some corners refreshed throughout. Still, a near fine copy
of this important and handsome book on Falconry. STC 15268.
