With a Summary of the Various Arctic Expeditions in Search of Captain Sir John Franklin...and His Companions in H.M. Ships "Erebus" and "Terror"... London: Ackermann and Co., 1850. First edition. Folio, plates measuring approximately 14.5 x 10.75 inches. [1, title], [1, printer's imprint], [2, list of plates], 5-8 pages. English and French in parallel columns. Ten tinted lithographs (on seven plates, each with tissue guard) by Charles Haghe, after drawings by W. H. Browne. Original cloth with covers ruled in blind, front cover lettered and stamped, all edges gilt. R. Ackermann, 191 Regent Street, ticket to front pastedown. Binding rubbed and lightly soiled, with some wear at extremities and faint sunning. Hinges starting, some toning to text and lithographs, thumbsoiling, light scattered foxing and spotting, a bit of offsetting. A very good copy, with nice, bright plates.
