A. Conan Doyle. The Hound of the Baskervilles. London: George Newnes, Limited, 1902.8vo. 16 tipped-in plates by Sidney Paget, including frontispiece. Original full scarlet cloth blocked in elaborate gilt on upper cover and spine, with black silhouette of the Hound stamped on upper cover, designed by Alfred Garth Jones; quarter morocco folding case.
FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, with "you" for "your" in line 3 on page 13. The most famous of the Sherlock Holmes tales, based on an English fable told to Doyle by a journalist friend, Fletcher Robinson, while on holiday.
