New York: Random House, [1944]. 8vo, original cream cloth-backed blue boards, spine gilt-lettered; publisher's dust jacket. FIRST EDITION. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on title: "John Nelson" and signed below where he has crossed out his name "W. H. Auden." Precedes the English edition. Slightest hint of toning to spine end extremes; a little discoloration to endpapers at gutters; dust jacket price-clipped, with spine panel slightly faded and with some minor toning on rear panel, very minor edgewear. Bookplate Porcaro. Bloomfield and Mendelson A26a.-- The Age of Anxiety. New York: Random House, [1947]. 8vo, original blue cloth, spine gilt-lettered on brown panel; dust jacket. FIRST EDITION, precedes the English edition. Dust jacket unclipped ("2.50"), with very minor wear to extremities, lightly soiled. Ownership signature on front free endpaper. Bloomfield and Mendelson A29a. -- The Age of Anxiety. London: Faber and Faber Limited, [1948]. 8vo, original yellow cloth, gilt-lettered on spine; dust jacket. FIRST ENGLISH EDITION, SIGNED on the title where he has crossed out his name. Dust jacket unclipped ("8s. 6d. net"), with very slight fading to spine panel; touch of wear to extremities. Fine.
