[Civil War]. Harper's Weekly. A Journal of Civilization. New York: Harper & Brothers, [1861-1865]. Five complete years, Volumes V-IX, covering the entirety of the Civil War. Five folio volumes. iv, 832; iv, 832; iv, 832; iv, 848; iv, 832 pages. Publisher's decorated cloth, Volume V rebacked. [together with]: Harper's Pictorial History of the Great Rebellion. Part I-II. Chicago: McDonnell Bros., [1868]. First edition. Two folio volumes. iv, 380; iv, 381-836 pages. Modern green cloth. Five in original full cloth have joints cracked and hinges cracking, boards loosening, extremity wear, rubbing, chipping with large loss on spines. Volume IX is very fragile, with front board detached, textblock starting to split. Light toning on sheets, occasional soiling and foxing, chipping on some pages, some areas of textblocks over-opened. Volume V with dampstaining on pastedowns as well as preliminary and terminal leaves, pp. [708]-709 and pp. 716-717 detached with partial maps on rectos and versos of sheets. Volume VI has bookplate on front pastedown, tear on front pastedown, dampstaining on corners of textblock. Volume IX has preliminary flyleaves shaken. The Great Rebellion...Part I is lacking pp. 125-132, Ulysses S. Grant portrait and p. 133 detaching. Great Rebellion...Part II has a bit of creasing on corners of preliminary and terminal sheets.
