Description

Drury Woodson (Woot) James and His Wife: A Circa 1860s Cabinet Photo. Identified on verso as "Uncle Woot and Aunt Lou James" in pencil. "Woot" James (born 1826) moved to California, where he died in 1910. He was the son of John and Polly Poor James, paternal grandparents of Jesse and Frank. "Woot" James was one of the founders of Paso Robles, California, and operated a health spa and springs there. Jesse and Frank visited him in 1867.
