Description

Thomas Paine: 1796 "End of Pain" Satirical Token. This design features the hanging of Paine, one of the intellectual sparks of the American Revolution. Listed as PM-1796-1 in Sullivan-DeWitt, it is holed at the top and has been brightened on the back by the removal of some residue. Diameter 31mm.
