Andrew Johnson: Anti-Johnson Cartoon. 19.5" x 14" cartoon published by Magee of Philadelphia, titled "An Au-Gust Convention." It depicts a line of muzzled dogs representing assorted states, newspaper publishers and Copperhead politicians arriving at the Wigwam convention hall. The White House appears in the background, plus "The Dead Dog of the White House". Mounting hinges on verso, loss to lower corners and damp stains along right side. Circa 1866.Auction Info
