Description

The following 48 lots are highlights from the well-known and respected Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley collection of the late hobbyists Edward C. Gillette. Particularly impressive is the selection of Buffalo Bill's Wild West posters, one of the largest and finest such offerings ever seen at auction. Ed Gillette was a particularly condition-conscious collector, and that is reflected in the quality of these items.
PLEASE NOTE: A NUMBER OF GILLETTE COLLECTION PIECES ARE ALSO IN SUNDAY'S INTERNET SESSON

William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody's Wild West & Congress of Rough Riders of the World Poster: A Possibly Unique Poster Depicting Cody Roping a Horse. Printed by Hoen and Company of Baltimore, it is a striking design not currently in the collection of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and previously unknown to longtime curator Paul Fees. Excellent condition, measuring 43" x 31" and effectively custom framed in period style. From the Collection of the Late Edward C. Gillette.
