Description

Revolutionary War: General John Sullivan Mezzotint Portrait. 8.5" x 13.75" mezzotint titled "Jean Sullivan Major General d'Armee des XIII Provinces unies en Amerique." Sold in London by Thomas Hart. Allegedly copied from a painting by "Alexander Camphel" of Williamsburg, Virginia. Sullivan (1740-1795) fought at the Siege of Boston, Long Island, Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine and Germantown. Light soiling in the border with very minor loss to upper right corner. Good condition.
