Description

Martin Van Buren: Two Better Campaign Tokens. (1) MVB-1836-4, 25mm, brass. Featured on the obverse is a right-facing portrait of "M. Van Buren." The reverse shows a temple of "Liberty." (2) MVB-1840-5, 37mm, white metal. A left-facing portrait of "M. Van Buren" adorns the obverse, enclosed in an olive and oak wreath. The reverse features an eagle standing on a safe and clutching an olive branch. Text following the curvature of the medal reads, "(Van Buren) The Country Demands His Re-Election." Both samples have been holed for suspension at the tops.

Condition: Expected wear throughout on both medals. MVB-1840-4 has minor tarnish. MVB-1836-5 has some denting along the rims and minor scratching throughout. These are overall in good condition.
