Description
[Woman's Suffrage] Large Twenty-Piece Grouping of Suffrage Items. A large group of women's suffrage ephemera containing a total of twenty different items is offered as a collection in this comprehensive auction lot. PAPER: Six various pledge cards from three states: Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania are included and all are in excellent condition. The smallest, a 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" yellow card issued for the "State Equal Suffrage League," is printed on both sides. The others are printed single sided. A seventh card 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" titled, "Suffrage Map of North America," has a 1917 calendar on the reverse and is also in excellent condition. BUTTONS: Thirteen pinbacks are also included ranging in size from 1/2" to 1 1/2" in size. Condition is excellent on all but two which present with condition issues: The 3/4" "Vote Yes Scratch No" has edge staining, and the 1 1/2" "Under the 19th Amendment" cloth covered button is slightly faded with some light edge soiling. All have backpapers except for three: "I Am A Citizen," "Vote Citizenship Suffrage Amendment," and "Ballots For Both." A terrific "instant collection" for someone interested in beginning a side collection of suffrage material or for the advanced collector with some holes to fill.Auction Info
