Civil War: Identification / Dog Tag of Powlas Gould, 2nd Regt., New York Heavy Artillery -"Deserted". 28mm, brass. Civil War soldier's identification tag belonging to Private Paul (Powlas) Gould. He mustered into "F" Co. on February 20, 1862 the New York 2nd Heavy Artillery. He deserted on February 6, 1863 at Fort Corcoran, VA. The regiment, initially organized as heavy artillery, also served in an infantry capacity during the war, engaging in major battles including Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, and Petersburg.

Condition: Legible but with expected wear and tarnish. Very good.
