Description
Winfield Scott Hancock: Impressive Kentucky Broadside. 14.5" x 22" broadside titled "Hancock and English! The Grand Ratification at Danville! On Saturday, July 10th." The top is adorned with a portrait of Hancock, an assertive bald eagle perched on a shield and a rooster. The event was sponsored by the Boyle County Hancock and English Club. After some "speech-a-fying", the event concluded with a "Grand Torch-Light Procession, Fireworks, Bands of Music." No mention is made of food or beverage, but taking place in Kentucky, we can well imagine the fare, including liquid refreshments. Normal folds, one small border tear at top repaired with archival tape. Upper left corner detached, but expertly repaired with archival tape, achieving a perfect realignment. Like Hancock, in "superb" condition. Hancock material is tough, especially display pieces. This could be the centerpiece of your Hancock collection!Auction Info
