[Abraham Lincoln Assassination]: Important Assassination Broadside Extra. 6.5" x 12" extra issued, we believe, by the Springfield [IL] State Journal, dated April 15, 1865. The headlines read: "Horror Horror/ Most Dreadful News/ Assassination/ Pres. Lincoln Shot./ He Died This Morning/ Seward Stabbed/ He Died This Forenoon/ His Two Sons Badly Hurt." He concludes with a dispatch from Chicago erroneously reporting on the death of Seward. Excellent condition, arguably the most desirable of assassination extras, being from Lincoln's home town.
