Description

Thomas Edison Stock Ticker with Stand. The heavy cast iron base has gold-leaf lettering on both sides reading, "Quotations Furnished By The Western Union Telegraph Co. Apply To Local Manager," and the works are stamped "M'f'd by T. A. Edison Inc. 5663." Weighs close to eighteen pounds. 8.5" in diameter, 11" tall without glass dome, 14" with dome in place. Appears complete. The brass retains most of its original golden lacquer finish. Shows good age and character. Sold together with the glass dome cover plus what we believe is the original wooden stand measuring 13.375" x 27.875". Included is separate electrical wiring and a circular cushioned pad with a matching diameter to the stock ticker.

Condition: The black paint and lettering appear to have restoration. The dual cylinders by the manufacturing number have minor fraying. The electrical element has expected wear and some black tape which has left some stray residue. The stand has minor abrasions throughout, else fine.
