Description
Edgar Rice Burroughs. Llana of Gathol. Tarzana: Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., [1948].Octavo. Publisher's royal blue pebbled cloth stamped in red. Complete with five inserted plates, including frontispiece, by John Coleman Burroughs. Original illustrated dust jacket, also by John Coleman Burroughs.
FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED on the front free endpaper recto by the author to his son, who illustrated this book, and his daughter-in-law one week after publication: "To Jack and Jane with love, O.B. Apr 9, 1948."
Condition: A few small scuffs to cloth, corners just bumped, minor edgewear. Dust jacket unclipped (no price listed as issued), generally clean and bright, spine panel somewhat sunned, a few minor chips, mild edgewear.

Accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Linda Burroughs, wife of Danton Burroughs, who was the son of John Coleman (Jack) Burroughs, and grandson of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
