Description
Hayes & Wheeler: Rare Ferrotype Shield Jugate. 7/8" x 1ΒΌ" brass shell shield marked "Hayes & Wheeler 1876" containing ferrotype portraits of the 1876 Republicans. Suspended from a hanger inscribed "E Pluribus Unum" with brooch attachment. Portraits are quite nice with no noteworthy defects. Certainly one of the nicer Hayes jugates. From the Merrill C.
