Book Signed by all Twelve Moonwalkers.
Moonwalkers Signed Book: Douglas McKinnon and Joseph Baldanza. Footprints. The 12 Men Who Walked on the Moon Reflect on their Flights, Their Lives, and the Future. (Washington, D.C.: Acropolis Books, Ltd, 1989). There were only twelve brave men to ever set foot upon the moon and putting together a set of their autographs is a primary goal of most space collectors. This book contains all twelve. Seven have signed the half title page: "To The Future!/ Harrison H Schmitt/ Apollo 17", "Charles Conrad Jr" (1930-1999), "To Peggy-/ Alan Shepard" (1923-1998), "Alan Bean", "To Peggy Murphy/ Best Wishes/ John Young", "To Peggy/ Edgar Mitchell", and "Peggy/ Reach For Your Dreams/ Aim High!/ Jim Irwin/ Apollo 15 [with drawn moon symbol]" (1930-1991). The other five have each signed on the first page of their individual section in the body of the book: page 21 is signed "Col Buzz Aldrin"; page 197 is signed "Dave Scott"; page 247 is signed "Charlie Duke"; page 265 is signed "Capt Gene Cernan"; and page 283 is signed "Neil Armstrong". The book is in near fine condition with lightly bumped corners; the dust jacket has one small area of crinkling at the top of the spine, else fine.At least three of these autographs (Aldrin, Scott, and Cernan) were obtained at Novaspace private signings and the appropriate Certificates of Authenticity are included with this lot.
