Description
British New Land Pattern (Light Infantry) "Brown Bess" Flintlock Musket. .75 caliber, 39-inch round barrel with fixed front sight, originally finished in the white. Lock marked "TOWER" aft of the hammer and with a crown over "GR" just forward of the hammer. Hardwood stock with metal buttplate. Loading road.Condition: Fair. Metal with a pitting brown patina; hammer missing top jaw and jaw screw, stock with long scratches, abrasions, especially near the muzzle. Small area of loss from the stock near the bore. Bore dark and rusty.
