Quartette of Quarter-Plate Civil War Tintypes.1) Seated Union private in a studio setting, housed in one half of an embossed paper case. 2) Standing Union private in a studio setting, hand-tinted. He holds his rifle with bayonet, has a cartridge box, cap pouch, oval belt plate, breast plate and kepi. A bit dark. Housed in an embossed paper case, separated at the spine. 3) Hand-tinted portrait of a Union private, standing in a studio setting with encampment backdrop, housed in an embossed paper case. A bit dark. 4) Hand-tinted portrait of a seated Union private in a studio setting with encampment backdrop, housed in an embossed paper case. A bit dark with some bends.
