Description
Colorful 1883 Sailor Roster Poster.21" x 25" chromolithograph honoring George Weeks who enlisted in the United State navy on September 2, 1864, serving on the Vermont, Maseuta and Shenango. He was inducted into the William Gurney Post No. 538, Department of New York, Bayshore, Long Island. This certificate was presented to his wife and surviving children in August 1912. Folds, nail holes and damp stains around border. Fair to good. The use of gold ink makes this "snap". From the Don Limpert Collection.
