Description
John A. Logan: Iowa G. A. R. Souvenir Album.Striking 8" x 5.5" velvet covered "My Comrades' Autograph Album" with copper shell portrait of Logan and the G.A.R. membership badge. There is a presentation page that indicates it was given to Adam Kemple Post No. 245 by Dr. Charles W. Sanford, Manager of the "Monadilla Indian Med Co No. 26". There is a lock of hair, but we don't know whose. The album was specifically given to Thomas A. Bell on December 15, 1892 at Sabine, Iowa. The album includes G.A.R. member business cards, two ribbons for the 45th Regiment Iowa Infantry, Iowa encampment ribbons from 1885, 1886, 1887 and 1888. A fun piece! From the Don Limpert Collection.
