[Civil War Era]. Henry Clements: State of Maine Certificate of Appreciation.


One partially printed page, 15.5" x 13" (sight), Augusta, Maine; July 4, 1868. Issued to Henry Clements, presumably the same Clements who mustered into Company D of the 27th Maine Infantry Regiment as a private on September 30, 1862. Printed signature of Joshua L. Chamberlain as governor and illustrated with engraving of Chamberlain at the top. Other fine quality engravings of Grant, Farragut, battle scenes, etc. Printed by the American Bank Note Co. New York & Boston. It is framed to the overall size of 19.25" x 16.5". Not examined outside of the frame.

Condition: Toned and dampstained.
