G. Goulcher Half-Stock Percussion Conversion Plains Rifle.

Unserialized, approximately .41 caliber, 38-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Top of barrel marked: J. YOUNG. Scroll engraved hammer and lock, G. GOULCHER stamped to lock. Tiger-maple straight stock brass hinged patchbox, triggerguard and crescent buttplate. Wood ram rod.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood, couple noticeable gouges underneath action. Heavy cracks to each side of stock at wrist. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
